I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program from my education suite I purchased 2 years ago, and it will not save anything I do on the program. It will not save preferences, curves, or any object created. It freezes after I try to save as... or use a shader in older files. What do I need to do to get my program back to normal? I can still model and render, but no preference or new objects can be saved. Attempting to open existing file, or import will always result in the app crash. This is actually caused by previously installed some Perl components (potentially bundled with some other products). To rectify, remove the following registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSIDF8D77580-0F09-11D0-AA61-3C284E000000 This registry key doesn't exist on the computer where Softimage 2013 works perfectly. You could export it, in case you ever need it imported back if this breaks something else... Fairly new to Softimage so forgive me if my terminology is shoddy... Bit of a peculiar problem. I was working on a scene and I accidentally dragged one of the loop bar/markers on the timeline to the same frame as the other one and since then, they've both completely vanished! I've tried turning looping on and off multiple times as well as restarting the software but no luck at all. They're either hiding very well or are gone for good... I can revert back to a previously saved version of the shot and they're back again but that would mean losing rather a lot of work! Many thanks in advance for any help you're able to give! Windows box is connected to file server as SMB share. Server is running latest updated version. I have all the permissions necesary. - I can not open a project on my file server (no error message, nothing happens) - I can not use old projects that are located on this server. I can open scene, but textures won't load. Project is moved from local disk to server. Again I have all permissions, can read/write/delete files from other applications (like After Effects, Word, etc) Same things happen when I try to open a project on other Mac share (not server). Polygonal models seem to work fine but surfaces don't. I never had this problem with earlier versions. Second, SI support installed my XSI license for me- so to the best of my knowledge it's installed correctly as a network license. That said- I've now experienced a couple of times where when I go to start it I get an error message that is the same as if you don't have the license installed correctly (like as a stand alone version).
