Well just read that it is supposed that Prince of Persia was made by Frame Store with Maya only.  I seriously doubt it.

I know that Frame Store uses Softimage more than any other 3d app.  In Europe as far the ruling software for major animation and post houses in the 3d area is Softimage.

Nowhere in the article it says “Thanks to Maya we were able to produce this amazing FX"…

So stop stealing credit from Softimage!!!!

Unless of course AD has drowned Frame Store and Cine Site with Maya seats…

I don’t foresee myself upgrading to Softimage 2011 or 2012 as I’m currently on 2010 and until I’m confident enough in ICE an upgrade isn’t gonna happen, besides it saves on upgrading :)

erm, I don’t think Framestore would mislead people like this.
Many of the larger production facilties in Soho use Maya, as well as other packages like Houdini.

Some one asked about Softimage studios in London on the xsibase forums, heres the link:

Well, here is a link of the official Frame Store web site where they say they use both apps Softimage and Maya.

Well its great to see that framestore is still open to using softimage on commercials. Their film pipeline is very much built around maya however, and I wouldn’t be surprised if prince of persia was all maya. At one stage they did have the most seats of si anywhere in london, but not these days. Still, with recent events, maybe they’ll start to look more closely again, these are the type of customers that the ‘companion’ marketing was aimed squarely at…

If softimage dies then also a part inside me will die…
