I recently downloaded the Mod Tool but quickly realised that I could not load any of my saved files (*.exp). I created a Project, placed a simple cylinder mesh (my nascent rope) and saved.  Do I need to do something to unlock this program - or is it a bug with a solution?

EDIT: I was wondering if I had to register the program but that asks for either a Product serial number (which would be for purchases) Or install and activate the Software using a group ID.  I don’t have a group ID?

What happens when you try to open the scene?
Are there any errors logged in the script editor history log? (press Alt+4 to open)

You don’t need to register ModTool 7.5.

When booting up the program, the script editor shows there is a name conflict redolved warning to do with the Valve plugin, but nothing much about when I load my scene file.  The only error report is from a dialog box which says the file cannot be opened.  I noticed I can no longer load the example files either.

EDIT:  I uninstalled Valve plugin, but I still have the problem with any file, incl. the examples.

Here’s the editor report

Strange, the script editor doesn’t show any errors.
The Valve source errors wouldn’t cause this problem.

Try running runonce.bat.

Great!  Its working again.  Once.bat worked the magic.  The webpage mentioned a problem with registry cleaners, which I had run recently.  Perhaps I have to do this again each time I clean my registry but thats no big deal.  Thanks!
