Sketchbook not displaying the right color and stroke unless I click on the pen

Now I’ve searched about this issue of mine and I couldn’t find any solutions. My problem is that whenever I select pencil, pen, airbrush or whatever option and pick a color, it can’t display the correct option unless I click on the pen.

I don’t know if this intentional or not but I find it extremely annoying that I have to click everytime I want to draw something.

Is there a way to do it right away, without the program drawing like a lighter tone?
