The eyes are based on the symbols for the Greek characters for Theta. These symbols were used in ancient Athens much like a skull and crossbones are used today. To indicate danger or as a warning. These Greek letters actually inspired the whole piece as this little guy is bringing destruction!

I can’t apparently link directly to specific images with the way my portfolio site is set up, but I do 99% of my work with SBP. Occasionally I have to send over to Gimp or something for tweaking, but the creation is generally all SBP. (A few in my portfolio are older and done with ink or pencil, but not many).
Have a look at the portfolio if you like, here.
Thanks and enjoy!

Amazing artwork here.
I am new to this tablet Illustration.
I was watching a promotional video featuring Sketchbook Pro where Scot Drake an Art Center alum is drawing a pinup girl (accelerated) and he goes from beginning to end. At some point he starts transforming his sketch lines into having clear tapered ink lines. At no point in the video does he indicate he has left Sketchbook to do this technique. It is like vector quality. But it looks like he is drawing it starting at 1m:50sec.

Its a very common look that I love but can never do. I have a hard time imagining artists that use this technique do it with bezier curves and pull handles.
I wondered if perhaps he might have pulled it into Adobe “Ideas” which is sort of a vector illustration program that lets you sketch intuitively.

Just started to use computers to draw and I found sketchbook pro.
I haven’t done any illustrations for 30 years. I started doing small illustrations and I wish we’ve had tools like this then.
Here are my first effort, just after downloading the programme and looking at the promo vids.
(I’m rusty at it, but the programme ain’t! :) )
By the way, How do they do the time-lapse screen capture videos? Is there a software that does that?
Thanks,
DD

Hey everybody!
New to the forum and to Sketchbook. Right now, I only have Sketchbook Express, but plan on upgrading when I get some money in.
I just bought a Bamboo Capture, and have jumped into digital drawing, and I love it! I prefer it over paper anyday!
This is my first full sketch on SBE. I don’t have much experience “painting” or coloring yet, so she looks a little flat. Need more practice.
Didn’t use a model or reference.
