Since the day I bought the software I've had to deal with annoying dialog boxes that pop up announcing: SketchBook has detected an error on your system. Quartz Extreme / Core Image do not appear to be enabled. This is required for Sketchbook to run properly. Ensure you are not running in safe mode. I have to click on the OK button in the dialog box when that happens, and often the dialog box is behind some other window in some other Space and I have a hell of a time hunting it down because SketchBook Pro is hung until I click OK on that dialog box. Now SBP works just fine once I've clicked OK and life is good - until the next random time the dialog box decides to appear. My MacBook Pro does not support Quartz extreme. Frankly, my Mac isn't that old and it's kind of ridiculous that SBP has this restriction and that it can't just configure itself to carry on with some reduced level of functionality if the computer doesn't support Quartz Extreme. Is there any way SBP can be configured to stop showing this warning? 2012-05-23T01:31:27+02:00 RGB sliders as per Mobile version. http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/rgb-sliders-as-per-mobile-version/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/rgb-sliders-as-per-mobile-version/page-last/#When:05:01:10Z Would really love to see some features of the mobile versions migrate to the desktop version of Sketchbook Pro - namely the RGB sliders! I use SB pro quite frequently at work, and not having the RGB sliders is quite a hindrance for any type of colour work - at least for those who come from Photoshop and are used to establishing colours via the HSB/RBG/LAB sliders. Would highly appreciated to see this implemented! 2012-05-22T05:01:10+02:00 Are there no books, manuals or pdfs for SketchBook Pro 2011 http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/are-there-no-books-manuals-or-pdfs-for-sketchbook-pro-2011/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/are-there-no-books-manuals-or-pdfs-for-sketchbook-pro-2011/page-last/#When:07:30:19Z I have hunted high and low for any books, manuals or pdfs on how the use SketchBook Pro 2011. Besides super-simple cartoons, I can't draw anything to save my life, but I would like to learn. However, I'm unable to dedicate a whole bunch of time, so I'm looking for some Bob Ross "Joy of Painting" kind of tutorials for SBP for the iPad with simple step-by-step instructions: "Use this brush at this Radius and this Opacity using HSB x-x-x." Of course, I'm not looking for detailed drawings of people, places, or things. Like Bob Ross' instructions, I would love just to be able to do landscapes, or possibly space-scapes. Is anyone willing to help the non-artist pretend to be an artist? How? Also the handrest will lock the program up, if it's not preformed correctly. Where do we read up on these new features, and more importantly, how to use them? thx 2012-05-17T13:35:58+02:00 Problem with Sketchbook Pro 2011 http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/problem-with-sketchbook-pro-2011/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/problem-with-sketchbook-pro-2011/page-last/#When:15:40:35Z I downloaded and installed SB Pro 2011 on my Windows 7 laptop with a student/unemployed license to help with learning digital illustration work. I use a Wacom Pen & Touch tablet and both SB and the tablet worked really well together on the first day. I then updated the driver for the Wacom tablet and after this SB stopped working. The initial screen was completely black and when I moved the cursor over the screen a series of white pixel like squares followed it around but it took ages to see the whole white screen. Then when I tried to draw with the tablet any mark I made took several seconds to show and only as a part of what i'd drawn. It's now impossible to use SB at all as the time lag and type of marks made just don't correspond to the strokes i'm making with the tablet. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the Wacom driver, same with SB and also tried rolling back the computer but none of these options work. I'd really like to learn how to use SB as it should give me an edge when trying to get work. I was hoping to learn SB Designer later but now nervous of trying my student/unemployed version. Anyone out there with a similar issue? 2012-05-16T15:40:35+02:00 Show and tell - Share Your WIP's and Tips http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/show-and-tell---share-your-wips-and-tips/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/show-and-tell---share-your-wips-and-tips/page-last/#When:08:37:05Z Chris suggested I begin a thread where everyone could show their works in progress and talk about them. A place for sharing ideas, tips and constructive criticism. I was lucky enough to be among the very talented and gregarious crowd on beta testing for 2010. We had a thread like that there, which was very popular and informative. Let's see if we can make this one like that, but even more so. I'll kick it off by lobbing this one in. There was a friendly challenge over at Imaginefx.com themed 'JADED'. Being me and loving bad puns, I decided to corrupt it to 'Jay Dead' and went for a nasty fairy idea. Didn't finish in time for the deadline unfortunately and haven't had any time to spend on it since. This is as far as it got. I will finish it later when I 'm not so busy though. It started out more or less monochrome, using various texture brushes I've knocked together - as you can in the 2010 version. Fantastic addition to the arsenal, that. I then started adding layers of colour at reduced opacity. It allows for more subtlety and happy accidents. Stops it looking too mechanical. You do tend to send a lot of time tidying up and erasing on layers though, so not the most efficient way to work. The background 'texture' was just filled in using a large brush I made within SKB. 2012-05-14T08:37:05+02:00 Are there any additional brushes/ pens http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/are-there-any-additional-brushes-pens/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-sketchbook-pro/general-discussion/are-there-any-additional-brushes-pens/page-last/#When:11:44:43Z see above and thank you 2012-05-09T11:44:43+02:00
