turn off ground shadows? - 2012

What’s the best way to do this?

I’m not finding a button. You’d think there would be. We just want to have the product(s) on a plain background with no shadows on the ground.

Best workaround I’ve found:
adjust drop-off distance and rate, then move the floor slightly down.

I’d rather save some speed though by just not even bothering to attempt to calculate them.

Can’t I just turn off the floor?

Turn off shadow casting the in Appearance > Environment light and Shadows.
