Just learning how to use Showcase. I want to slide my model along one of the axis.  I pick Select>Select All to pick all the parts. Press H to display the transform handles.  Now when I click on one of the handles to drag, the part goes into rotate mode. How do I do that and not rotate the part?

It looks to me like you are orbiting (i.e. tumbling the camera - which is different from rotating the object), which suggests to me that you are holding down the ALT key while dragging with your mouse.  Make sure you are not holding down any keys when you do this. The other thing to realize is that you must keep your mouse on the arrow until the object starts moving.  Sometimes if your system is a bit slow the move action doesn’t register because your mouse moves off the arrow before the object can move.

When I first open the part, if I use the transform command, I get the triad and I can move/rotate the part in the environment like I want. But then if I orbit the part and then try to transform it again, its stays in the orbit mode.  They way that I am orbiting is with the left mouse button.  I hold it down it and I orbit around the part.  Its like once I use the orbit command, the LMB stays in the orbit mode.

I’m not using the ALT key.

Just figured it out.  Once I click the orbit command in the navigation bar, the orbit command is lit (active).  To get out of that I click it again and it is no longer lit (not active).
