Dear,

I have some problems when I import a file from Autodesk Alias: it joins several parts together, and I have to extract patches to separate them and apply differents materials. It happened on small parts or details.
I would like that Showcase keep exactly the surfaces separated to apply directly and easily the materials.

Thanks,

I would look into the import scripts.  I forget exactly where they are located but I am pretty sure they are meant to be available for cases like this.  Basically, there is an autostitch operation that you can configure that may give you the import you are looking for.  By default, I think it combines parts of your model with common materials or something like that.

The key word is autostitch.....you should be able to find something on that.
