I was wondering if anyone knows how I can force only one level of detail to be created.  I tried tessellating a .jt file with the LOD1 High setting and it still pushes out 3 to 5 LODs for each piece of geometry in an assembly.  Any helop on this topic would be appreciated.

If your JT file had tessellated data in it, Showcase will read the data no matter what your tessellation settings are.
If you only have splines in our original data you will find that the tessellation settings work as expected.
You are doing the right thing - just make sure the incoming data does not have anything but splines in it.
