Hi....anybody knows how to apply material to a face or surface of any body in showcase.
I have a part of an assembly that has a section and the part has a metalic material, and I need to apply another material to the faces of the section, but I don´t know how to select the faces because the software selects the part. Thanks for your help.

Hi, you can do this in Showcase 2011.

Select your part, then choose the menu item “Edit -> Fix Object Patches -> Extract Patches as New Object”

Your object will be displayed as matte purple, then you can click on the object patches (or faces) and hit the button to extract them as New Object(s). The selected faces will be grouped into a single, new object that can be textured independently of the part but are still a child of the part in the hierarchy.

This is how you would apply polish or cut-line textures to parts of a solid model. Have fun!
