Can anyone tell me if Mudbox 2011 will have a displacement export option for Softimage?
What I meant to ask was about normal maps.. And normal map compatibility the trail 2010 has options for max and maya I was wondering if 2011 it will have a softimage option.

dispmaps are only grayscale images… you can render it in every render software…

even mb2009 has a perfectly usable displacement output for softimage, I don’t think they’ve changed that…

Yes I know but it has drop down list with Maya for preset. I was looking for one for softimage.

In my modest opinion, i like all the new features of Mudbox 2011, in particular posing-tools, PSD blending-layers and UV-mapping tool.

Thanks,

Yes ok maybe I could flip. But I was hoping for a straight forward softimage option that would save me the extra effort, as the programs are trying to work better together? Does not sound like it would take Autodesk much effort to add this.

I think, and I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, that the XSI coordinate system is the same as maya- Y up. It’s only Max that’s different (Z up). So try the maya preset, you might find it works just fine with XSI as is.

I did not see anyone ask this question, is it possible to bake textures(diffuse, spec, etc) to a different UV map?

So i see theres a single click object&maps exchange with Maya now? has anyone tried this?
Is there a way to do this with Max?
I’m mostly interested if theres a “one click” way to transfer model with, few channels (bunch of layers each) from Max? and then when done painting “one click” again, and all the maps update back in Max?
