Do we have any retopology tools in the Mud 11?
If not, are there any plans in the future to add such feature?

No and Maybe? :P Retopology probably isn’t high on their to-do list, you can do that in many other apps, just export a mid resolution model out of MB and ur ready to start.

Topogun is what I have in mind then. Although it might not be high in the list, I’m pretty sure it will only matter of time for AD to implement such feature. It only makes sense to have it in MUD, at least IMO.

the idea behind mud is more to support a feature film pipeline…
not only modler…

where does productions loose the most time..?
at the moment its painting really highres texures…
so mud will fitting these gap…

Does Mud 2011 have selction sets that work on models with triangles? At the moment they screw up when its not an all quad mesh.

I heard that Mudbox 2011 mirror painting is still having problems, when painting on mirrored UVs. Can someone comment on that please.

just dont use mirrored and layed on top uvs…
move it to the second uv tile and all is fine…
and for realtime use only the texture in tile one..

How do you get involved in the beta testing for the new versions? I’m a student so it won’t be happening any time soon, but I was just curious for future reference…

Also does anyone have a ballpark release date for 2011? Or is it generally accepted April sometime?
