Hi,

I’m using MB 2012 and have a Maya character (dylan) fully rigged and characterized in MB. I’ve imported some BVH mocap files and characterized them. If I assign either of these to ‘dylan’ the animation is OK.

As the final animation will be quite complex, involving more mocap files, I want to use the MB story editor.
How do I save out/convert the existing BVH characters into fbx so I can use them in a story track?

I’ve searched the help docs, the web etc. and found some guidance, but any fbx file I manage to save out is either ineffective (only a few K in size) or causes dylan to twist and deform on the spot.

The BVH files are easy to characterize as they use MB naming and have a T pose.

I’m probably missing something simple, but as I’m completely self-taught in both Maya and Motionbuilder I would appreciate help.

Thanks,
Rob
