Hi,

I work in a company that makes some research in human-computer interaction, and I’m in a project where I must capture arm movements as well as hand and finger movements.

So far I’ve been programming a proof of concept using a Cyberglove II to capture the finger movements and so far so good.

With that done I must get the arm movements. After some difficulties, I’m not able to work with a motion capture suit, because it doesn’t work with the windows version I have installed in my computer. So I’m trying to use a Kinect sensor.

I’m trying to get MB 2010 to capture both devices, and so far I have success, but the tricky part, and that’s were I’m asking for help, is to join these captures in one character.

When I add the VirtualHand device, it shows a hand skeleton in the grid of MB. Then I had the Kinect capture and it ads a skeleton in the same point. This skeleton doesn’t have hands, just the bone that correspond to it.

My question is: Can I group/merge the two skeletons through the hand bone? That is the VirtualHand root bone to replace the hand bone in the Kinect skeleton.

If you have any question please feel free to ask. I tottaly blind on this.

Thanks,
Leonel
