Hi! I need some help!!!

I am using the default Gremlin character in Motionbuilder 2011. I’ve created a character animation track and drag my fbx motion over.

Note: I am actually following the tutorial from Digital Tutors on putting two motions together via the storymode.

The character snaps into place for the first frame but then does not move for the duration of the clip. I have gone over this numerous times and still can not get my character to work.

Any help is appreciated!!

I seem to have made some progress.

The fbx file I was using contains a character reference skeleton. It also has 3 takes and in Storymode I only see the one take. It seems to assume that you only want take 1.

The new problem is that the character now follows the reference skeleton and not the bvh skeleton/data. That red reference skeleton it moved above the character and causes it to stretch.

Again, any help is appreciated.

Issue Solved…

It seems that Take 001 is always empty. Here are the steps I had to take to get my character working…

Add character to scene
Go to Storymode
Drag over the motion (fbx file)
With the character track selected, right click and choose change take.
Choose your take

You character should move.
