weird problem with arm

hi,
i hav skinned a biped character in maya 8.5 n characterised it in motionBuilder 7.5.
but when i import an animation clip both the arms r acting weird n everything else acts proper
i hav already experienced the same problem with another character.
is there anything wrong with my joint orientation of arm r any other prob....
