Is there an official forum somewhere to talk to autodesk techs?

If you are on Subscription Support, you can use the tools here to log support requests:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=618136

Many different Autodesk team members review these AREA discussions as well.  When time permits, people will try to help you out but the goal is for the community to grow and help out each other using forums like this one right here.

Hope this is useful.
Thanks!

ahh thanks, thats the same place i had tried, it’s odd that you do not get a subscription for tech support if you legally license the product, seems a little shadey to me.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate the area but it had no answers for any of my technical questions :P, but it is definitely a resource for others.

Hey Robert,

What type of technical issues are you running into? As Rob mentioned above, we try to monitor the Area forums as much as possible and for customers that want to have dedicated support via phone, we offer Gold Subscription.

Cheers,

Curtis Garton

i have a scene file that is freezing on load at “retrieving object data for Clip::”. Sometimes it gets to cip::1 but usually sits there for 30 minutes then stop responding.  I dont know what “clip” this is talking about : / This has happened twice before but dont know what causes it.  They both have motion blend setus but not with alot of data in them.

Hi Robert,

Any chance you can post the file for us to take a look at?

Its not trying to grab that clip from a remote network is it? I know here we have people working at 3 locations and sometimes clips will be looking for a UNC path as opposed to a drive letter path so loading those files when its trying to pull the information across a network takes forever.

company says no : / i cant find anything actually called a clip except camera clips at one point.  Any clue what it is referring to as a clip? my best guess was the edits in motion blend.

Hey Robert,

I’m afraid it is pretty hard to diagnose this one without the scene file to look at. Let us know if youa able to get approval to release it.

Thanks,

Curtis Garton
