I’m new to the program and just got the PLE version to test.  I have several .c3d files of the arms, hands and fingers of a guitarist and have 2 questions:

1) How do I get these into MotionBuilder and see them on a skeleton that matches the exact size of the performer?
2) I need to compute the joint angles as a function of time and be able to output them in a graph or file.  Can this be done and if so, how?

If this can be done in MotionBuilder I will then buy the full version.

Thanks

Hi

1) The C3D file has to be imported in MB. The C3D markers need to be mapped onto an Actor and retarget to a 3D character. Please refer to the tutorial on Actor mapping for all the details as I can’t type everything in here. You should be able to retarget any size actor motion onto any size 3D character, the solver will take care of the most of the disparencies.

2) A rotational animation curve will be produced on the 3D character skeleton joints can be read in the Fcurves graph editor.

hope this helps
