Multiple joints as one??

I am having hand joint problems even though the joint naming is correct, I was looking at the characters inside MB and found that their hand joints are multiple joints named as one..I put a picture in to explain..

How do I go about doing this? I am using 3ds max.

It’s not an error what you see… Motionbuilder displays joints differently from 3dsmax.
If you pick a joint in motionbuilder it shows the influence that joint has on other bones… that will be the five finger base joints in this case. Personally I prefer this way of displaying bones rather than max’s way. I think maya uses the same display style.

So, if you’re not seeing any extra bones in your schematic your good!
