Motion builder is freezing when i load scenes when it gets to “retrieving object data for Clip::”

Sometimes it will succeed and continue to load, but only after 10 - 15 minutes.  this started after reseting my computer one day, for multiple files i was working on.  Any way to determine which “clip” it is speaking of?

Hi Bryce or Robert,

is it possible your scenes or fbm folder are on a remote desktop or server or else than local?
it might be referring to a story’s animation clip, or else some video or audio media.

does this happen when you load any knid of scene?

when you say: resetting your computer… do you mean: a windows restore point? as if your file’media would be stuck into some kind of between restore points limbo??

bye for now.

This is happening to me as well.  99% of the time I can’t open the program without it freezing as soon it loads.  Even when I load straight from the file it does it yet just not as much.

My one is a multi-OS version of 2009, but it doesn’t even seem to like XP; I need to use it on Vista 32 Bit.  It also doesn’t like it when both MB and 3ds Max 2009 are installed together…

99% of the time when you are trying to use Motionbuilder it doesn’t work?

can you do a clean uninstall and reinstall? will it work?

what do you mean when you say: ‘’doesn’t like it’’?

could it be a license issue? is your license up to date? what do you mean by multi-os? the 64bit version? are you trying to run that version on a 32bit os?
