Hi all.

I want to know how can I flip or mirror an entire animation, without using the copy/paste poses system.
I have a MOCAP file and I need to flip this animation from left to right exactly.
Is there any tool for do that or I need to make some procedure?

Thanks.

Hi,

I believe that you can try to use a Time Warp curve to do this.  Just select the items with the animation that you want to flip.  Then in the layer editor near the FCurve window of Motion Builder there is a tab called TimeWarp.  You can create a curve there that represents the keys over time.  You can then flip the first and last key in the time warp curve, then just hit apply.  This should flip the animation.

Hope that helps,

Mike

If you want to mirror character animation, use retargeting with enabled option for “Mirror Animation”, look in “Character Retargeting properties” from MBHelp.

on the skeleton, plot to ctrl rig with the “mirror” button ticked. your character will flip round 180. Then plot back to the skeleton without the “mirror” button ticked.
Drag into the NLE and rotate the teardropback through 180 and write to a new take or your existing one.
Your animation is now mirrored.

This is a fast method for mirroring a full character.
