Greetings,

What’s the workflow to animate the “Depth of Field” in a scene (e.g. to mimic a hand held video camera)?

The parameters don’t show an [A] or [K] button, so I guess they are not animate-able.

Any workarounds? Scripts? Suggestions?

Looking forward to your thoughts and replies,

Leander.

hi,

well indeed you can setup your deep of field in your camera property to “camera interest” .your “camera interest” will be the object define in the camera setting tab : “Look at object”

if this solution doesn’t fit your need, you can acces to this property via python scripting with the property FocusSpecificDistance

hope this helps

Fred

Have a look at this thread: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=85&t=530724&highlight=depth+field and take the last zip file. It allows to connect properties from 1 object to another!

Hi Fred,
Hi Johan,

Thank you very much for the fast and very helpful replies!

I’ve checked the plugin from CGTalk and it seems to do the trick.
I will also try out the “look at object” option and play with that.

Thanks again :)

Cheers,
Leander.
