Hello All,

I have story clips on a character track created for one character that have data plotted to the control rig and whenever I apply these clips to another character, the clips no longer work. The problem seems to be with the character clip settings which are switching the clips solving mode to retarget from Skeleton, and it will not let me switch it back to control rig, as it keeps automatically jumping back to skeleton.

Am I misunderstanding something about how this all works, am I missing a step, or is this a bug.

thanks for any help.

You have to have the same thing driving each character you want to apply the rigs to, and the names of the nodes have to be the same.  Generally speaking, you can’t use one character’s story clip on a different character if one of them has an active ctrl rig, because the names of the ctrl rig reference node are generated from the character name.  The easy way around this is to plot the character to skeleton before you create the story clip.  As long as the names of every node in the characterization matches your other character, you’ll be able to transfer the motion just fine.
