Hello,

I’m working on a Daz to MotionBuilder pipeline to see if it’s possible to do some basic mocap work on various 3d models from Daz and Poser for a web series.

The new fbx exporter is not too bad in Daz studio 4 pro. I was able to import their biped ‘genesis’ in MoBu without trouble and characterization was easy, and quickly I got to this ‘genesis’ biped move properly in Mobu.

But then I tried another of their basic model ‘DazDragon’ that comes with the software cause I wanted to see how a quadruped from Daz was working in MoBu.

I was able to characterize it ok (as good as you can characterize a Dragon to a human skeleton;) but when starting to move my control rig effectors I got some nasty results on the mesh, as if part of the mesh was not skinned properly to the bones, or pinned in a very stranger way.

Here is the link to this test file if you’d like to have a look at it:

I can’t figure out really where the issue is, if some of you gurus could have a look at this file and tell me what you think the problem can be that’s be of a tremendous help.

Thanks in advance,

Arnaud
