Hey all,
I’m having real problems getting Ragdoll Physics to work when matching an animation. I watched the autodesk 2010 one and kxl’s ones, which are both good but mine still arn’t working and there is very little other documentation/tutorials out there.
First off if tried a variety or rigs, CAT Biped, my own bones, I only managed to get one biped working out of all of them even then he doest work properly. So then I used the mia biped rig from the tutorials folder and skinned it to my model. that went in and ragdolls normaly, However when i “match animation” he walks like his legs are broken and they dont follow the animation properly. Ive played around with the approximation and the options but i cant get him to match it properly.
Workflow im using: i caracterize my model, do an animation, then add a ragdoll, tune the approximation a bit, keep it as active, turn on the “match animation” box, add in the physics solver. Turn it on and live and he just behaves like a normal ragdoll falling to the ground not, matching the animation at all. Ive tried bringing the match transalation match rotation up but nothing happens.
After matching animation to mia with animation from the tutorials it works perfectly.
Any ideas what im doing wrong? Are the requirements that the bones/ origional rig must match? (I already found that basic ragdoll doesnt work with one spine link)
Sorry for the long post, its just driving me crazy, it seems so simple in the tutorials
Cheers for any help much appreciated
