NP.
I didn’t have the chance to play with it - funny, I bought SpaceNavigator when it just came out thinking it’ll make my life so much easier but I keep finding myself going back to the mouse and keyboard when it comes to 3D orientations…
Dunno why, I guess I find it to cumbersome to setup most of the time and time-wize not as fast to navigate as with a mouse… I think it’s because I don’t have the other models with more “reachable” buttons…
Anyways, have you tried the “new” beta drivers that 3DConnexion offer? (http://www.3dconnexion.com/supported-software/anywhere.html)
From what I’ve seen you can customize most programs to use the device, also look into the forums perhaps someone made a profile for mudbox. (http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=37)
I can’t guarantee that it’s a good solution, not to mention names but I wanted to use it on a somewhat equivalent software (4 letters starts with ‘m’) and downloaded the profile that a user made and although it was rotating and everything but you couldn’t use your mouse while doing so - so what’s the point in that?
(yeah, you hear frustration here because this device does have potential it’s just not there yet).
I found myself using it for movie editing a lot - like a jog wheel in a way - this is great!
Actually, while writing this post, I came to think of a way to rotate it around the center - point of interest, didn’t tried it but maybe under cameras, select the camera your working on and in the ‘Camera Settings’ (in the Navigator) select the object of interest.
Let me know if it worked.
Cheers!
