When I merge in a new take using the same take name as the master scene, I plot the new elements down, then create a null to parent the new elements under it so I can line them up in space to the place holders. When I do this, as soon as I parent, all the elements explode or pull towards the origin. I've done this before and it's worked fine, but now...not so much. I tried plotting in the story tool as well and no luck. Any suggestions? 2012-03-21T20:00:29+02:00 freeze at 84% merging http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-motionbuilder/autodesk-motionbuilder-2011/freeze-at-84-merging/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-motionbuilder/autodesk-motionbuilder-2011/freeze-at-84-merging/page-last/#When:16:09:17Z I'm using Motionbuilder 2011in XP64bit, but always irritated by its freezing. But I've got to convert a walk cycle to a walking on a treadmill animation. Killing the Z-axis translation of the hips is easy, but I don't know how to kill the motion of the arms and lock them to the handles of the treadmill. I tried "pinning', but I'm doing something wrong, because pinning only seems to work if you've got no underlying animation driving the arms. any advice much appreciated. I am basically following this process, http://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/face_settings_with_the_voice_device For some reason that I can't figure out. The constraint relationships device is not automatically creating the proper wiring between the voice node and the character face, this has worked for me in the past with no problem but for some reason it just will not work. I am using motionBuilder 2011 and maya 2011 with FBX plugin 2011.3 I have reinstalled a clean version of motionbuilder 2011 service pack 1 also tried testing this with a simple sphere with blend shapes and still no connections are being made between the voice and character face in the constraints relationship. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. I created a mesh in 3dmax and imported this mesh to mb2011. The character was characterized and is perfectly editable via control rig. In next step i imported an bvh of simple straight forward-walking. The reference character was creaded by mb2011 automaticly. This line-character is moving fine, but the angle of the animation is about 45" rotated arround the y-axis to the front-faced mesh. When i use the Line-character(bvh import) als character-input-source my mesh is moving. But the angle is wrong. My mesh is looking to the side and the legs are moving like side-steps directly through the other mesh-legs. I tried a lot of things and roteted my mesh and the story animation-angle. But it didnt helped. The movement-direction changed, but the animated character is still movingh to the side. How can i change the y-angle of the orientation of the mesh or of the bvh animation? I must rotate the character in the final animation so it would look forward and walk worwand and to to the side. thank you. chris 2011-11-02T03:55:09+02:00 Fullscreen on dual monitors http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-motionbuilder/autodesk-motionbuilder-2011/fullscreen-on-dual-monitors/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-motionbuilder/autodesk-motionbuilder-2011/fullscreen-on-dual-monitors/page-last/#When:11:18:23Z When I enter Full Screen view MotionBuilder only displays to a single monitor.
