I have been noticing after extended use of motionbuilder eventually the program will stop loading.

This is due to the writing of the application.txt file that motionbuilder edits. The incremental save paths will get tons of \\ in the path definition. When i remove all the extra backslashes it will then work again.

Is this a known bug, and is there a work around for it?

Has no one seen this before? Is this just isolated to our studio?

Hi Adam,

I’ve not seen other user reports of this problem.

For the config files, the *.History.txt file keeps history of saved files, for files on network location- these would have \\\ prefix – are you saving files across network share or mapped directories?- could that be the cause of problem?

You should definitely contact Autodesk Support if you have Subscription setup so they can look into the problem. Info on Subscription is below:-

Autodesk Subscription.

If you don’t have subscription setup you can also submit defects through the following web link:-
