So I am attempting to add a ragdoll to a low resolution skeleton.  I’ve done everything I can think of to get it to work.  I have successfully added a ragdoll to the mia rig character in the tutorial.

However, after following the same steps to setup the ragdoll for my character, I click Online and Live and nothing happens.

Hi Doug,

It is hard to say without seeing your skeleton.  Do you want to send it to me?

Hi Doug,

Three things stand out from the scene you have sent.

First, the hierarchy is not standard.  The skeleton bone you dropped into the hip field of the character definition pane is only the parent of the lower part of the body.  This bone should control the entire hierarchy.  As well, Ragdoll needs two more bones then you have in your hierarchy - collar bones (though we are re-examining this functionality).  And finally, your character is very small.  It was recommended to me to use a World Scale set to 100 for optimal results.

Hope this helps.

You mean the Hips are not the Hips?  Guess that goes back to standardization of naming conventions.  Oh well. I do not feel motivated to explore an inflexible/unscalable tool.

Hi Doug,

I think you will agree that requiring those extra bones is a bug, and we have fixed it.  I am working to see that it is in our next release.  Thank you for alerting us to this problem.

As well, we are looking at better ways to deal with tiny objects.  The engine that we use for physics does not seem to like very small scale objects.  We are working to fix this as well.

Best regards,
Kelly
