Aim Constraint using "Object Rotation Up": definition of World Up Vector

Greetings,

I am looking for a good description of what the “World Up Vector” is and what’s the difference to the “Up Vector”, when
World Up Type = “Object Rotation Up”

The description in the help file in 7.5 and 2009 is rather blank “ Lets you specify an X, Y, or Z coordinate for the Up Vector.”

How does it work together and what’s the difference with the (non-World) “Up Vector” (which I guess is using the World Up Object’s local axis) when in Object Rotation Up?

It sounds like both are the same, but how do they work together, sounds like one value too many, are they both in local axis of the “World Up Object” ? I guess one relates to the constraint object and the other to the World Up object - but I am not sure.

Maybe someone could enlighten me on this? Thanks!

Object Rotation Up

Specifies that the world up vector is defined relative to some object’s local space instead of the scene’s world space. The up vector tries to align with the world up vector after transforming it relative to the scene’s world space. The object whose origin the up vector tries to aim at is called the world up object. You can specify the world up object with the aimConstraint MEL command (use -wuo flag). If no world up object is specified, the world up vector is defined relative to the scene’s world space.
