I am unable to install the Bonus Tools, so I can not rely on them. I use Maya as it is out of the box. 2012-05-03T19:14:00+02:00 Face Robot with Maya? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/face-robot-with-maya/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/face-robot-with-maya/page-last/#When:10:35:42Z I'm wondering if we will get Face Robot in Maya. Or will only be for Softimage? 2012-04-25T10:35:42+02:00 Maya 2013 Focus http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/maya-2013-focus/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/maya-2013-focus/page-last/#When:21:24:23Z I like Maya and am looking forward to Maya 2012. But based on what I've seen, it is still going to be lacking a lot of the modeling and mental ray improvements that many have been anxiously awaiting. I think it would be great if the next release of Maya could be known throughout history as the "Modeling and mental ray Integration" release. 2012-04-12T21:24:23+02:00 MULTILISTER - Repeated Requests to bring it back are COMPLETELY I G N O R E D ! http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/multilister---repeated-requests-to-bring-it-back-are-completely-i-g-n-o-r-e-d-/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/multilister---repeated-requests-to-bring-it-back-are-completely-i-g-n-o-r-e-d-/page-last/#When:05:33:10Z I wish that Autodesk MAYA programmers would PLEASE bring the MULTILISTER back !!! I have asked a million times; by phone, E-mail and carrier pigeon - AND MY PLEA JUST KEEPS GETTING I G N O R E D. I am really sick of the DISMISSIVE way that Autodesk handles FEATURE REQUESTS. Would it really kill ya to re-incorporate MULTILISTER back into MAYA 2012. You already have the code for it. OR, would it really kill ya to at least PUBLISH AN EXPLANATION (rather than just to ignore YOUR paying customers.) Who pays your salary? We do !!! I have been using this line of software for over 20 years (way back when Maya was WaveFront). And I am not a complainer, but I have had enough! 2012-04-06T05:33:10+02:00 Software renderer and point clouds and maybe Kinect. http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/software-renderer-and-point-clouds-and-maybe-kinect/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/software-renderer-and-point-clouds-and-maybe-kinect/page-last/#When:14:50:54Z I would like you to update Maya's software renderer, it hasn't changed since Maya was first released, make it as cool as Mental Ray. This way I can render on multiple machines for free and not have to buy multiple Mental Ray licenses just to render. Also, I have access to a 3d scanner now and I would like Maya to be able to handle Point Cloud and to be able to read the file format to all the popular scanners. I had an idea of using the Microsoft Kinect to do free form modeling maybe to do everything, no more mouse or keyboard. Hot keys could be imputed in by hand gestures, lip movements, or even body gestures. 2012-04-05T14:50:54+02:00 Feature request - functional final gather object exclusion attribute as a default attribute on the shape nodes http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/feature-request---functional-final-gather-object-exclusion-attribute-as-a-default-attribute-on-the-shape-nodes/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/feature-request---functional-final-gather-object-exclusion-attribute-as-a-default-attribute-on-the-shape-nodes/page-last/#When:16:04:42Z After fiddling with my render settings for hours I found that I had to add a boolean "miFinalGatherHide" on my transparent object's shape node to stop it blocking the trace. It looks like the default final gather exclusion attrs don't do anything. It would make sense for this to be more obvious. Anyone who got here googling for a fix, do this; addAttr -ln "miFinalGatherHide" -at bool yourObjectsShape; Cheers, R 2012-03-30T16:04:42+02:00 Feature request import obj/model and rig/animation shelves http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/feature-request-import-objmodel-and-riganimation-shelves/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/feature-request-import-objmodel-and-riganimation-shelves/page-last/#When:15:45:59Z instead of having to import animations/rigs and especialy models using the import feature in maya it would vastly help streamline both production companies and help animators/modelers simply to be able to visualize add the model/rig to a maya shelve and click on it like you do the basic polygon and nurbs model and be able to see a thumbnail of medium size of the render of it. this saves individual animators/modelers the stress of having to start all over and a huge library can be pre-built of models especialy to have these modeling/rig packages included with maya/softimage/3Dsmax and have primitives (primitive chair, human head, etc.) that can be built on and modified by animators/modeler. (or sold seperately). this would help streamline and save time for both modeling and animating. when you have generic guestures such as walking or waving in animating these should be added to a rig library pre-built in maya. while its important to know how to animate and build models, its also good to save time and have a huge library available pre built models and generic rigs so people demoing can have fun with the package. it seems that you can make a shelf and re-arrange mayas shelf commands to your leisure but not add something like a model to a shelf itself that you just created or if you create a nurbs head add it to the nurbs modeling shelf, etc. you have to use the import command wich doesnt help you visualize and keep track of what you do if you have a large library of models/rigs. unless i am missing something after exhausting googles search. :). 2012-03-28T15:45:59+02:00 CUDA for dynamics http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/cuda-for-dynamics/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/cuda-for-dynamics/page-last/#When:04:47:48Z when autodesk introduce cuda use for dynamics, Nparticles and fluids??? i found already someone that made it for fluids.... hardware avaibles today let's this possible..... why not use it? http://www.foliativ.net/book/index.php?post/2011/03/04/Cuda-Fluid-Solver-Plugin 2012-03-28T04:47:48+02:00 My feature request for Maya 2013 or other newer versions to come http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/my-feature-request-for-maya-2013-or-other-newer-versions-to-come/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/my-feature-request-for-maya-2013-or-other-newer-versions-to-come/page-last/#When:18:22:01Z This is just what I would like to see in future releases of Maya, starting with Maya 2013 if possible. I don't know at the moment if I can think of much more to add to this list. If you want, add your feature wishlist for future versions of Maya. 1. Photomodeling - load as many photos as you wish or need to a photo tray, and tell Maya, with the click of a button, to make your model from the loaded photos. Of course, this may require the user to specify the basic direction of the photos. For example: You might at least load a front photo, and then specify a side photo, back photo, and other angles if you wish. This might be usefull if it were possible, like some photomodeling software I've seen, where you can make almost any object from a series of photos, and sometimes even make humans from photos. 2. Draw to make geometry - basically this feature wish I want is to make geometry with something like the PaintFX brushes, but instead, you make geometry with a brush that you can scale, rotate, and move with sliders, and then of course add textures. I guess this would sort of be like painting with metaballs, or something like painting with "Zspheres" like in Zbrush. I would like it even more if this feature could be made to have a density slider for the mesh made from painting. Check out the way Archipelis Designer works in the trial version, because I have the full version, and all you have to do is draw a shape, and it doesn't have to be a connected line, and then it makes your mesh. You can even trace photos to texture your mesh with them as you trace. I'm not the owner of the company that makes that software, I just thought it would be worth a discussion to compare it to my feature wish for Maya. Maybe users could draw in Maya to make polygon meshes. Thanks. 2012-03-20T18:22:01+02:00 Negotiate NVidia to make a proper Maya Optimised driver http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/negotiate-nvidia-to-make-a-proper-maya-optimised-driver/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-maya/wishlist/negotiate-nvidia-to-make-a-proper-maya-optimised-driver/page-last/#When:01:47:40Z I know this is an NVidia wish - but Autodesk clearly work with them. If NVidia make a 3DS Max driver - why not a Maya one? Pressure from all sides (as well as Nvidia communities) can only help :) 2012-03-11T01:47:40+02:00
