Hello there,

I’ve been doing tutorials from book called Introducing Maya 2011 by Dariush Derakhshani. There’s a Poly Hand tutorial. So far I’ve been doing everything as told in the book, so far so good, but I’m stuck at one point, where you have a polygon cube, and you have to move a face in Y ax position, I’ve been clicking Edith Mesh, selecting the face I need, then clicking Extrude and move tool, but all it does, is move the whole cube in the direction I need.
Can anybody please tell me what I’ve been doing wrong? Because I’ve been fallowing step by step and I have no idea what I’m missing.

Is there such a thing, as unselecting groups in Maya, maybe that’s what’s wrong if so how to do this right. How to move something away without moving the whole thing?…

Thank you.
