I finished rigging a low poly mouse today and was getting ready to start working on some simple animations.  I set my initial keyframes on the first and last frame for a looping walk cycle and now when I scrub the time slider nothing moves after keying a middle frame.  It appears to work fine when I play the animation, but nothing when scrubbing a few frames.  The numbers in the channel box don’t even change when scrubbing although there is clearly a curve in the graph editor. I have update all views in preferences but nothing happens in all 4 views.  I am running a student version as I am working on my Masters degree but I figured everything should function.

Thanks for any suggestions

Don’t fret about the student version part… aside from the reminders and the tags in the saved files, it is identical to the commercial version.

The channel box does not update values when scrubbing… but it does update if you click on a specific time.

Anyway, I am not sure I understand what you did well enough to offer any advice. What I think I understand is that you posed the mouse legs at frame 1 and at frame 12 (or whatever cycle you are running) by setting keys.

Then you went back to time 6 and set keys on the legs in an intermediate position.

And you get no action when scrubbing but it works when you play the animation?

Give a better detailed description of what you did, and what is wrong. Pictures are always a big help… the board software here requires they be zipped (not .rar) to be uploaded here, but I upload mine to ImageShack and just put a thumbnail+link into the message.

I found it!  It was in performance settings under dependency graph eval.  The default was release and needed to be changed to drag
