Firstly, I am not screaming, I am 47 and I have a hard time reading anything but
large print.

Anyhow, I am using maxops.clonenodes to copy a master object, that in
keyframer has repeat set to “relative repeat”

This does not copy over in maxops.clonenodes.

IS there a way to copy this to the 499 copies?

probably one line of code

Thanks

I assume you mean you animated the master object (position?) then applied a “relative repeat” Parameter out of Range to it?

If so, then I don’t understand because it’s working perfectly here. Admittedly I only created 2 clones (of a single animated Box) not 499 but that shouldn’t affect anything.

A bit more detail perhaps? Including Max version (I tested in 2011x64) and the bit of script doing the cloning.

Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.

Is there a go-back in time and NOT post the message I just did?

UNDO IN TIME FUNCTION?

Because it does copy the loop (which is spelt almost like woops!)

check out this file done with noise loop

each and every look at object has a random seed, but see how it does not follow
the master animation after frame zero

noise loop available at boomer lab.com

Did you mean to attach a file?

What a day...I thought I pressed all the buttons.
I will download it tommorow, i will also start
on a pflow solution.

pflow can be used for way more than particles

By totally ditching noise position in favour of pflow control I get random noise
at frame zero which is critical.

Also. in Max 2011 noise position behaves differently than my older Max

So a pflow solution works as well as you can see it is a mostly scripted solution.

EDIT: added the full 1080p preview of frame zero as well

Looks cool, though you might want to check the spelling of “tendril” (unless it’s a trademark or such like).

The spelling has been corrected on this R&D piece

The animation looks even cooler but at 1080p each frame takes over 5 minutes
at the quality setting of the still

That I can well believe - but the time spent is undoubtedly worth it for the quality of the end result.
