Well i tried modeling a shirt [cloth] with a youtube guide and in the guide you need to create seams which connect all of the panels, in the youtube video he can click on each part of the seam but when i create it - it automaticly highlights the whole seam.

his tut:

you can see he chose only a small part of the whole panel’s seam.

on my max

When editing the spline, before the Garment Maker mod in the stack, you must Break (unweld) the vertices where each seam will end, so GM knows where to separate them.

When I apply garment maker it says “More than 2 splines meet a point”.

The verts, although broken, should still be coincident. Did you move them when you broke them?
Just select the vert(s) where you want to divide seams and hit Break.

I’ve reached this page through searching.
Since someone was with the same problem I thought on trying to replying on this one.

I am having the same problem.
I just started trying to make a simple V-Neck shirt, but when I apply the Garment Maker I get that error.
“More than 2 splines meet a point”

Even though I did as you stated, I broke the vertices and it persists.
Any ideas on what problem might be?

----

I’ve solved my problem by scaling my models in 1000% offset

Although it is a LOOONG time since you posted your issue- someone else might want an answer as well. The Error “More than 2 splines meet a point” is given becauce, when you attach an object to another, 3ds Max levels the two objects on the z-axis. So go to your top-view -> move the objects away from each other so that you can see the two objects completely. (This depends on which scope you made your objects in). Now - attach the objects. When you add the “garment maker"-modifier, it will give no dumb errors.

I hope this helps!

You have to create splines in the Top view. This is the only “View” that will work with cloth/garment modifier.

“More than 2 splines meet a point” means you didn’t use the top view to create spline shapes.
Otherwise you will stack the verts on top of one another giving you the error message.
