Making a Realistic Diamond in Max

I have tried several times using the same techniques as used with glass but do not get the desired result. Should I be using some type of decal like in Rhino 3D or something. AllI get is just the transparencey, but not the looks of a real diamond. Any sugestions. Thanks Eddie
I am using Max 2008 on a Dell Workstation
