Export the Shot

Most media management tasks are done from the Clip Library.

Start in the Clip Library.
1. Select the clip you want to output to file.

tip Tip

To export a clip with an embedded alpha channel, you can select two clips. The first one will be the front and the second one will serve as the matte.

2. Press Export Image. The Export Image module is displayed.
3. In the browser, navigate to the location where you want the final clip to appear.
4. In the File Format box, choose the file type to which you want to export.
5. Set the proper export options.
Depending on which file format you choose, different options will be displayed. Please note that for many image formats, you can resize automatically upon exporting.
6. To export he clip right away, click Export.
7. You can also export the clip in the background by choosing Add to Queue and Execute. This will allow you to continue working while the clip is exporting. Note that this is the only option available when exporting to QuickTime.

tip Tip

To view and manage export jobs in the background, you can swipe the lower-left side of the Export Image module. You can also choose Ctrl+0.
