Hi Everyone,
It is an exciting day at Autodesk; we have announced the 2011 releases of many of our software products. See link to read more http://area.autodesk.com/products
I’m posting this here because Composite (built on the technology that was Toxik) is now also part of 3ds max. So all Maya and 3ds max 2011 users will have Composite, also new in this release of Composite is a very powerful Vector Paint tool and improved FBX import capabilities. The new vector paint was designed using Combustion’s paint tool as a reference and while they are not exactly the same there have been some great improvements to the vector paint roto capabilities such as the ability to not only adjust the X and Y position of a clone or reveal source but you can also scale, rotate and shear the clone and reveal source images. I will be posting some new videos on my blog at The Area later showing these new features and tools in Composite.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the Composite 2011 tutorials, they are great for start up.
I was trying to do four corner pins tracking as in Composite Help tutorials,it is fine but still need few help from you guys on how to offset the four corner pin of the surface without using 2D transform.
I appreciate if you do a video tutorial on tracking.
Thanks again.

Thanks Ken and Eric.
I'll remain hopeful for some I/O in the future. :)
I'm not really knocking Composite though, i think it's brilliant, would just like it to be a little better integrated into a post-prod pipeline. I do a lot of roto and tracking in Silhouette and Mocha, and it would be great to keep that data around as long as possible.

Looks like the idea isn't going to work or be as easy as I thought. :(
Back to the drawing board,

Rob,
Currently there you can import a 3d track into Composite through FBX import and the trackers and camera will be imported into the Reaction tool but you cannot import/export 2d tracking data or splines.
But as Eric posted there are some work around using python scripting. I look forward to what you have up your sleeve Eric.
