Looking at the Area blogs I couldn’t help but notice my colleague Grant as the only guy flying the flag for EMEA. So I thought I’d join in as well and so here I am. :-)
So, now that I've taken the plunge, I hope to keep it up regularly.
So what will I be blogging about?
I hope to cover a wide range of topics relating to our Entertainment Suites, including feature demos, best practices, and general tips and tricks. And also highlighting some cool stuff out there on the web that many of our users are doing and also blogging about.
My main 3D apps of choice are Maya and Softimage as I;ve used them for years, but I also know Motionbuilder and Mudbox as well. Although my blog topics may be primarily focused around those products, I’ll try and find room for some Max as well, though I’m sure the Max guys here will beat me to it. :-)
Well that's about it….I guess I better write something, so here goes.....
So, you may have noticed that we recently release Subscription Advantage Packs for Maya, Max, Mudbox, Motionbuilder, and after a slight delay Softimage as my buddy Mark posted on his Area blog. :-)
This was a great release for Softimage because if not for anything else, it included the splendid Lagoa multiphysics technology developed by Thiago Costa.
However despite finally getting their hand on this cool but of tech, it seems that many people seem distracted by the inclusion into Softimage of the famous (or should that be infamous) Autodesk Viewcube. Love or hate it, it’s there. :-)
However someone told me that the actual viewcube textures are stored in the install directory (Application/AutoCam/Textures). So I guess that if you changed those textures, it will reskin the Viewcube?. Now who would do such a thing ;-)
