The 3ds Max 2011 SDK Documentation is now available for download at http://www.autodesk.com/3dsmax-sdk-docs. The SDK documentation has undergone a major facelift, and we want your feedback. In fact we have added a feedback link to each page of the SDK docs that emails me directly your comments and suggestions, with details about the page you sent it from.

In addition each page has additional navigation controls for going to the next and previous page in the table of contents, and a navigation "bread-crumb". Some of the new documentation improvements (e.g. changes to the section on the reference system, new recommendation for how to clone plug-ins) will be useful for SDK developers still using earlier versions of 3ds Max, so we suggest that all plug-in developers download the documentation and take a look at the "What's New" section.

Here is a preview of the new docs:

Hi, sorry for the O/T question, but considering you are involved with SDKs within Autodesk, I was wondering where is the best place to ask a question on the Mudbox SDK?

I'm trying to find some reference or examples on writing a plug-in that traps events outside of the Mudbox application (such as Windows API), but all of the examples & details I can find in the Mudbox documentation only refers to within the application, as if its plug-ins run in a totally closed environment. It seems even external events such as file events are only able to be handled internally by the Mudbox environment. If someone can just point me towards where I can research the answers, I'm happy to do the researching.

Thanks in advance.

Dave.
